What is Quick Handle Basketball?

Quick Handle™ is a comprehensive, one-of-a-kind program that features many unique basketball training platforms.  The Quick Handle foundation is an intense and fundamental skills program teaching ball handling and the art of single-handed ball control.  Coach Mendo, who founded Quick Handle in 1992, has put together a successful comprehensive pyramid of skill development program, in a progressive teaching format consisting of unique and revolutionary drills and moves.  The program has evolved into 3 levels; 1) Fundamentally Sound (FS), Which provides a platform of essential foundational drills and moves required to develop balance, proper footwork and ball-handling skills needed to advance to our lightning quick level program and  2) Lightning Quick (LQ), which equips a player for advanced play and success; and  3) Virtually Unstoppable (VU), which is our advanced ball-handling program designed to take an already skilled player and provide a dynamic set of drills and moves designed to take a players game to the next level of competitive greatness. 

Quick Handle also specializes in the advanced development of quick release shooting, both on and off the dribble.  The program specializes in instructing unique, challenging and innovative drills in a demanding setting through our  one of a kind Quick Trigger Camps, Clinics and Academies.  Non-traditional methods and techniques are emphasized that can take any player and equip them with the ability to get their shot off quickly and efficiently against any type of defender. 

Coach Mendo’s unique playing and coaching experience ties in with Quick Handle’s strategies to provide the most unique and dynamic Point Guard Camp around.  The Point Guard code is a unique and comprehensive tool designed to track, challenge and catapult a player to exercise strong leadership skills and maximize being successful, consistent and winning point guard.  Further programs such as on-ball defense, post work, single-handed passing, and all around team play are also emphasized. 

Our program has also expanded into intense year-around academies developing and emphasizing the complete player.

Quick Handle has also created a non-profit program called “Virtually Unstoppable”.  This is an AAU program designed to give young players in a number of grade levels an opportunity to play on a Quick Handle team and expand their talents in a team concept under our Quick Handle philosophy.  This program has expanded into 14 teams in 2007.  A number of grade levels are represented in our program and our players have had outstanding success both on the court and in their development as a player and a person.  Our Varsity boys and girls teams have competed well and won numerous tournaments.

Our unique collection of instructional books and videos along with our vision to create more and affective comprehensive teaching aids is our goal for the future.
