Academy Structure

The academy is divided into the following divisions...

 

 

Quick Handle Junior Academy-

Grades: 4th-6th

 

To develop a superior skill set in Quick Handle LIGHTNING QUICK level of Ball-handling drills, and moves off the dribble, an explosive first step, quick trigger shooting, 1-on-1 box Defense, team play, fast break, post passing, setting screens, single handed passing, and challenging competition. 

 

Quick Handle All Star Academy-

Grades: 7th-12th

 

To develop a superior skill set in Quick Handle VIRTUALLY UNSTOPPABLE level of Ball-handling drills, and moves off the dribble, an explosive first step, quick trigger shooting, 1-on-1 box Defense, team play, fast break, post passing, setting screens, and single handed passing, and challenging competition. 

 

Based on skill level and experience, Academy members may (upon coaches recommendation) participate in a lower or higher division.

 

Academy members are encouraged to try out for one of our Quick Handle Elite AAU teams.  Academy members are not guaranteed a spot on one of our AAU teams that will participate in tournaments and leagues. The goal of AAU teams in our program is to provide first class coaching, skill development and exposure, in that order.

Academy is based on the following core values...

INTENSITY- Teaching a style of passion that instills mental toughness, a never give up attitude, and a superior work ethic that strives for excellence.

SKILL DEVELOPMENT- Developing a superior skill set that equips players with the ability to succeed at a high level.

RESPECT- To learn the valuable lessons of respect for God, parents, coaches, team members, and friends.  To respect oneself and develop core moral values that will empower oneself to make courageous decisions, and to stand up to peer pressure..

DISCIPLINE- Equipping players to be self-starters, visionary minded, and persistent. To be empowered with the determination to accomplish any goal that a player puts their mind to.

SPORTSMANSHIP- To develop positive characteristics of learning to be a humble winner, and gracious in losing. To treat opponents, officials, and coaches with respect and dignity, and to be honorable in ones motives.
